A Kitale Bishop who was admitted at the Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi three weeks ago maybe detained by the hospital over failure to clear an outstanding bill of shs 1.3 million.
According to the family, Bishop Margaret Mburu of Prophet Owuors repentance and Holiness ministry may be discharged anytime but they don’t have the money.
Two weeks ago, the family and Kitale members of Repentance and Holiness ministry urged Prophet David Owuor to intervene in paying the bill.
On Tuesday the family said, Mburu who has been suffering from hypertension and kidney failure has improved but cannot raise shs 1.3million.
“The bill was at sh 2 million. We managed to raise sh.700, 000 from friends and well –wishers. We now have to clear the balance of shs 1.3 million because she may be discharged anytime,” said Andrew Masai, the family spokesperson.
Masai blamed the ministry’s Archbishop John Litunda and senior Deputy Archbishop George Chaka for failing to inform Prophet Owuor.
The family believes prophet Owuor would have paid the bill if he had been informed.
The family has a pay bill number 520547 where well wishers can send their contributions to.
Bishop Mburu has served the ministry’s North Rift region for sixteen years and has helped establish 366 churches.
