Cherangany MP Patrick Simiyu has said his office will identify talented youths in sports with an aim of sponsoring their education.
Simiyu said his CDF has identified schools where the targeted students from humble backgrounds who are good in sports will be accommodated.
The students will get full bursaries.
“I too came from a humble background and studied at St. Anthony’s Kitale. I was talented in sports. The talent helped me get sponsorship for my studies at the school,” said the MP.
He spoke during the finals for his constituency football cup at Wiyeta primary school where Bwake hammered Sibanga 1-0 in the tournament.
The MP asked the youth to be disciplined.
He said he will help them improve their livelihoods.
Simiyu added that his CDF paid school fees for more than 7,800 students through bursary and promised to increase the allocation next year.
He dismissed his opponents who have been spreading propaganda that he will only serve for one term.
“I can’t be a one term MP because my record will speak for itself after five years,” said Simiyu.
“I take this opportunity to thank you for considering me your MP in last August polls, indeed God is for both the rich and the poor”.
In the tournament, wake received sh.100,000 while Sibanga FC pocketed sh.70,000.
