Transport CS James Macharia on Thursday launched the construction of shs 3 billion roads in Nyeri County.
“Launching the construction of 65km of new tarmac roads in Kyeni constituency of Nyeri county at a cost of KSh 3 billion. I was accompanied by the local MP Kanini Kega, as well as Engineer Ngugi Nduati, and Gichuki Mugambi,” Macharia posted on his facebook.
The CS said the roads to be constructed are Tagwa – Mbiriri – Warazo – (20km), Richardson – Maragima (3km), Karkulet – Narumoru Girls (6km), Muriru – Ol Pajeta (17km), A2 Nyumba ya Round – Mlima Kenya Secondary (7km), PCEA Mwireri – Honi River (12km).
Macharia added that he also reviewed the construction of Lot 3 of Mau Mau roads in Nyeri county (109km).
“These roads traverse areas that have hitherto been served only by earth roads. They will also improve inter-county connectivity and enhance market access for agricultural and industrial products,” he said.
