Garissa based detectives have said that they discovered Ifo police station OCS Isaac Noor has within five months deposited over two million shillings bribe in his Mpesa.
The disclosure came up last week after Hot News exposed Noor’s role in protecting dealers in illicit sugar and rice smuggled from Somalia to Garissa.
The goods are then repackaged in Garissa godowns before being transported to Nairobi.
Officers summoned a local Mpesa agent trading as Masalani Communications who disclosed the OCS transactions.
It is the agent who allegedly receives bribes on behalf of Noor and later deposits into Noor’s Mpesa numbers.
A detective privy to the investigations said the Garissa detectives were unable to take any action against the agent because they also use the same agent to receive bribes.
Noor has allegedly disarmed junior officers he suspects exposed him to the press.
He allegedly told the affected officers that he knows who is who at Vigilance House and cannot be transferred from North Eastern region by noise from his juniors and the press.
