Busia County has received a consignment of sanitizers from the National Government to supplement its efforts in combating the spread of Coronavirus (Covid-19) disease.
The consignment includes 41 jerricans of 20 liters and 108 cartons@24 bottles of 500L each.
Busia Deputy County Commissioner Joseph Onyango said the sanitizers will be distributed to the people of Busia County.
The recipients of supplies include Police, Prisons departments, Hospitals, One Stop Border Post in Busia and Malaba, Judiciary, National Government Offices, County Government Offices and County Assembly.
Mr Onyango said they met as a subcommittee of the County Emergency Response team to discuss on modalities for distribution and quantities required.
” I urge those who will receive the supplies to exercise utmost accountability and ensure that they are used for intended purpose and not for sale.
Director coordinating Covid-19 activities in the county, Dr David Mukabi said the sanitizers will be distributed to all health facilities including dispensaries across the county.
