He said that he is rich and has no criminal record.
On Tuesday, the vetting for Nairobi County Executive Committee members kicked off after a temporary halt by the courts.
Several petitioners had gone to court saying Governor Johnson Sakaja’s cabinet was not inclusive.
Mwangi is the current Chief Officer for Environment and Planning.
He told the vetting committee that he has immense knowledge since he started working for the County in 1985 in the same department.
“Land grabbing in Nairobi is rampant but the menace is politically instigated as politicians will gain popularity by rewarding irregularly acquired or public land to their supporters,” he said.
He said the land adjacent to the Supreme Court belongs to the county and the matter is in court.
This is after a row erupted when the Supreme Court and the MCAs fought over the land.
