The Union of Kenya Civil Servants KEMRI branch wants one Beatrice Adieri to exit KEMRI after her secondment expired.
In a letter written by the Union and addressed to the CEO / Secretary Public Service Commission, the letter said she was appointed to the Institute for purposes of supporting the KEMRI Human resource department for a period of six (6) months starting 2nd June, 20022 to 30th November,202.
The letter was written on 06/12/2022.
The Union said Ms. Beatrice Adieri’s secondment was never communicated to the concerned Heads of Departments and staff in KEMRI.
“Since her arrival in KEMRI, she has been participating and continues to do so in endless retreats purportedly to work on the review of KEMRI Human Resource Instruments. During this period, she got appointed to carry Human Resource Management, Administration, and operations over the last two months.,” said Dr said Dr. Edward Githinji Chairman, union of Kenya civil servants-KEMRI branch.
Githinji said the officer has never been introduced or interacted with KEMRI staff other than the Board of Management, a few Senior officers and those involved in so called review of HR instruments.
He said KEMRI staff have raised this concerns through the Union.
He added that the Union is aware of the intention to extend her stay in KEMRI despite having raised their concerns to the Management
“By a copy of this letter, we request the intervention of the Principal Secretary, Ministry of Health whose office has already been made aware,” Githinji said.
