Iteso cultural Union (ICU) has inaugurated its new council.
The event saw the immediate former Prime Minister of ICU Papa Paul Sunday Emolot from Teso south in Tororo elected Chairman of Iteso.
This position is higher than the PM position he previously held.
Emolot’s current position makes him second to his highness Papa Emorimor Augustine Lemukol Osuban.
The vice chairman is Emechu Nocianta from Kalaki district, Uganda.
The inauguration of the new council marks the dissolution of the previous entire cabinet which has been in the leadership of ICU.
This also prepares way for his highness Papa Emorimor to nominate a Prime Minister and present to the council for approval by the Iteso parliament.
The election of the speaker of the council and their deputies were also done with Okuma George Francis from Palisa elected as speaker.
He will be deputized by Genevieve Agada from Teso Kenya.
Gabriel Opolot Ononge who has been in the previous administration as head of the youth desk says that the inauguration of the new council means that ICU has moved to a new dimension by establishing a new council.
The tenure of this new council is five years.
