DP William Ruto has asked local Musicians who support him not to shun away from performing during his political competitors’ concerts and rallies.
Ruto said the musicians should accept invites from all over because they are out to make money.
“Music is a business. Musicians are entrepreneurs. You should not reject offers even from my political competitors. I know where your hearts are, and I will support you.,” he said.
Speaking to the musicians who paid him a courtesy call at his Karen office on Monday, the DP said musicians are human beings first and that they should all be friends.
He said friendship is more important and urged the artist to ensure they make extra income whenever they have a chance of performing anywhere.
“We are hustlers, money in our pockets, earned via our sweat does not have a mark of political support. I am not looking for songs about me, that would be unfair to ask from you as businesspeople. I urge you to instead, record songs along your style, to build your brand and to make people happy as you always do” Ruto told the artists.
He encouraged them to reach out to all artists, even those who do not support him.
“If any of them has a challenge let me know, we should help each other. We have a job and vision, and we will do it together,” he said.
