President Uhuru Kenyatta has asked first lady Margaret Kenyatta to allow him to marry another wife but from Luo Land.
While addressing Kisumu residents, Uhuru said (Nimekuwa nikiuliza ndugu yangu Raila Odinga kama Mama anaweza nipa ruhusa nitafute mtu huku awe akiniangalia, Ndiposa tutembee vizuri). I was asking Raila Odinga if my wife can allow me to marry a second wife probably from here. So that she takes care of me and I visit often” Uhuru said.
The crowd went into a frenzy.
He was addressing the residents in Mamboleo Kisumu.
Uhuru dealt much on the unity of the Country.
Uhuru’s eldest son Jomo is married to Fiona Achola Ngobi .
Achola is a granddaughter to former Minister William Odongo Omamo who is father to CS Raychele Omamo.
He said the BBI is meant to cure recurring violence during every election.
In an indirect attack on DP William Ruto, Uhuru said when one is sick of Malaria, they should be given anti malaria tabs and not pain killers.
“The real cure for Malaria is anti-malaria tabs and not Panadol,” he said.
Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga said empowering the Jua Kali sector is not wrong but long-term solutions to unemployment need to be sought.
“You can start off as a Boda Boda rider, shoe shiner, Jua Kali artisan and latter own the Hilton Hotel. It does not matter where you start but where you are going. However, you cannot own the Hilton Hotel if someone confines you to mkokoteni pusher or wheelbarrow,” Raila said in an apparent reference to Rutos side of giving wheelbarrows to the youth.
During his visit in Kisumu, the President commissioned the construction of the Kshs 415 million Jomo Kenyatta Stadium in Mamboleo, Kisumu County.
According to State House the new stadium now at 7 percent completion stage will be constructed to international standards and equipped with ultra-modern facilities.
He said the facility is a fulfillment of his election promise to the people of the football rich Nyanza region.
He also inspected ongoing construction of the ultra-modern Uhuru Business Park Market Complex in Kisumu County.
The Shs 600 million multi-purpose facility is being implemented by the National Government and will be ready for use by the end of this year.
