Paul Watila Chesoli on Thursday appeared before Milimani law courts magistrate Sinkiyan Tobiko and denied one count of obtaining goods by false pretense.
The court heard that on diverse dates, between October 5,2020 and February 19,2021 at the Ken Walibora Center for literature Development Limited, he obtained goods by false pretense.
The center is situated at Hillcrest Court, along Waiyaki Way Westlands.
The prosecution said he had the intention of defrauding and obtained from Fidelis Menasi of Pipe Contractors and Supplies Limited, electronics, Furniture’s and 1,370 textbooks all valued at Sh 2.6 Million.
The accused is said to have pretended that he could pay for the goods.
He was jointly charged with the Ken Walibora Center for Literature Development Limited in which he is a director.
The accused pleaded with the court to release him on lenient cash bail.
Tobiko released him on Sh 200,000 cash bail or a bond of Sh 500,000.
The matter will be mentioned on May 27,2021.
On April 15th 2020, Media reports indicated that Walibora had died a week earlier after being knocked down by a car while crossing Landhies road in Nairobi.
