DP William Ruto has said the BBI should include everyone.
He was speaking in Kisii during the Mashujaa Day celebrations.
Ruto who was brief in his speech, seemed to have been infuriated by Raila Odingas remarks that a constitutional change is imminent.
Raila insisted that nobody can stop “Reggae” BBI.
Ruto is opposed to the BBI saying it is meant to create positions for a few people.
Ruto has branded himself a hustler and a pro- poor man.
In his speech, President Uhuru Kenyatta warned against constitutional rigidity.
“Our country is staring at a constitutional moment. We must resolve the winner takes it all situation,” he said.
He added that the issue of us vs them must end.
The President said the cycle of violence every election year where Kenya wastes 2-years must end.
He added that whenever elections are around, the economy slumps.
“We can’t use elections to solve the cycle of violence. It must be a constitutional change. I urge the Country to ponder a constitutional consensus,” he said.
Uhuru said the constitutional changes are not going to create positions for individuals.
“As William has said, we will seek to have a constitutional consensus that accommodates all comminutes in an election. There must be equity in distribution of resources and opportunities,” he said.
