All Kenyan schools will re-open in January 2021 due to Covid-19 pandemic.
Education CS George Magoha said the 2020 Academic calendar has been considered lost.
He said there will be no KCPE and KCSE exams in 2020.
Teachers Training Colleges and TVETs will open in September 2020 under strict Covid-19 protocols.
Universities will re-open on a case to case basis
Magoha urged Universities to embrace virtual leaning and graduations.
Magoha said the re-opening may be brought forward if the Covid-19 curve is flattened.
He said the directive applies to all Private schools, Public and International schools.
The CS also asked parents to take their time with their kids and teach them other activities like farm work.
“President Uhuru Kenyatta has been teaching some children how to set up model farms. That is a good thing he has done. You should also take your kids through the University of life,” he said.
He said parents can still organize tuition for their children at home if the teachers adhere to the Covid-19 protocols.
