In 2009, what started as a cyber café has come all along to be one of the largest payment solutions in Kenya and the rest of the world.
Webtribe is the parent company that owns Jambo Pay- the innovative electronic payments services provider that is marking its 10th birthday today.
JamboPay was the first company to provide electronic payments solutions at City Hall.
The company oversaw the migration from manual payments to automated payments that led to an increase in revenue.
Out of over 120 revenue streams at City hall, at least half have been automated.
The Kenyan Fintech with operations in 6 African countries said in a statement that it will reward motorists in 30 Towns across Kenya with free parking on Monday 29th April 2019.
“We have also partnered with the Kenya Forest Service and Red Cross to plant 1,000 trees at the Ngong’ Forest as part of our 10th birthday celebration, “said Brian Ngunjiri the firm’s head of customer care relations.
According to an elated CEO Danson Muchemi, JamboPay provides digital payments services to over 5,000 organizations in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ghana and Somalia.
“We process millions of transactions through mobile phones, over the internet, across banks and on its network of independent agents across Africa. We employ over 150 people and we have a network of 15,000 agents.” Muchemi told Hot News.
Muchemi said he founded the firm in 2009 when he was 24years.
“We continue to develop better technologies and partnerships across Africa because we attach a lot of importance to simplifying lives through innovative technology,” he said.
