A woman caused drama outside the Milimani Law courts on Tuesday morning wailing claiming CJ David Maraga has failed to provide for their child.
The woman identified as Mary Kwamboka Onyancha said she has been a friend to the CJ since 2013.
She said they have a six-year-old girl named Shantel Kemunto Kenani.
According to the birth certificate, the girl was born on 21/4/2014 at Nairobi’s Pumwani Maternity Hospital.
In court documents, the woman claimed to have had intimate relationships with Maraga in 2013 and 2014.
She claimed they met at a Church function.
She also claimed that Maraga denied having sired the child with her and refused to support her.
The girl is a pupil at Cathsma School in Umoja.
She is in PP2.
The woman said efforts to get Maraga have been futile.
She now wants shs 20,000 for food, shs 5,000 clothing, shs 45 rent, shs 41,000 school fees per term, shs 20,000 medical cover, shs 10,000 for the Nanny and shs 20,000 entertainment.
On 10th March 2020, the Makadara District Children’s Officer Vivien Jepchumba wrote to Maraga to appear before the Makadara Children’s District Office on Monday 23rd March at 10 am to assist the officers in family assessment.
“During the family assessment process, we will discuss individual and family strengths and the parenting responsibilities. With the information gathered, we will develop a plan that will support the protection and safety of the child,” Jepchumba said in the letter.
The woman who lives in Buruburu phase 5 also showed a rent receipt of shs 45,000 from Tulima Court.
