Nairobi Assembly Majority leader Abdi Guyo who is also Matopeni Ward Rep was suspended on Tuesday for missing 11 sittings.
Guyo has also been renounced by Jubilee and ODM MCAs.
On Tuesday, Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju reinstated Guyo after his ouster in November 2019.
Guyo had been replaced by Dandora I1 Area MCA Charles Thuo.
According to Tuju, Jubilee Party recognizes Guyo as the majority leader and Mihang’o Ward Rep Paul Kados as the Chief Whip.
Speaker Beatrice Elachi rejected the changes as Guyo is on a one-year suspension for snubbing sittings, abusing the Powers and privileges committee, and remaining adamant when called up on to respond on allegations leveled against him.
“The current team led by Charles Thuo will retain their positions, we cannot have a majority leader serving a one-year suspension. We can’t work with a person who is out of office on gross misconduct,” ruled Elachi.
Nominated ODM MCA Mary Arivisa was delighted by what she said was “sanity and justice” that prevailed a year after she was suspended on baseless allegations and malice.
