Several Youths from North Eastern region have called on Garisa Town MP Aden Duale to formally take over the region’s leadership mantle.
Speaking during a zoom meeting yesterday, the youths drawn from all the communities living in North Eastern said Duale is the only person who can help the communities in North Eastern be economically empowered.
“I had an interesting political conversation with a learned friend of mine from Nyanza. We discussed quite a lot while also restating the undeniable kingship of Hon. Aden Duale in the Somali political sphere,” said youth leader Abdullahi Hassan popularly known as Domey.
The youths said the immediate former Majority leader in the National Assembly should position himself to be in a high office in the next government.
“We know Duale has the interests of the people at heart. We should all support him as a region” said Farah Hassan another youth leader.
They called on the people of North Eastern not to allow themselves to be divided along ethnic lines.
“We should all leave our tribal cocoons. We should not call ourselves Somali’s, Borana, Garre Murulle or any other tribe. We are one people and unity is strength,” they said.
The Youths said the region has 2.7million voters and that they should use these number to bargain for a bigger chunk of the national cake.
