Agriculture CS Peter Munya has forced Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi to elaborate his development score card.
Munya said Kiraitu has performed poorly and should go back to the Senate.
The CS also dismissed Kiraitu’s new formed political party.
An angry Kiraitu fired back.
“I want to tell Munya that he is the only visitor in Jerusalem who doesn’t know the things my Government has been doing in Meru for the past 4 years. I want to challenge Munya to leave his Nairobi office and visit Meru more often to see for himself the transformation that has happened in Meru since we kicked him out of office in 2017,” Kiraitu said.
Munya took to his fakebook to say that he visited Meru last week and interacted with stakeholders in the Agriculture sector during his developments tour of Imenti central in Meru County.
“To assist small scale farmers in this region my ministry has handed over 1,800 water pipes of different sizes to community water projects which are aimed at assisting community in distribution of water to their farms in order to enhance productivity as well as increase provision water for household use,” he said.
The CS added that to assist in curbing insecurity around the marketplaces, government has commissioned installation of floodlights in the markets.
He said he was accompanied by area leaders Hon. Ayub Bundi, Hon Mbijiwe among other leaders.
This angered Kiraitu who is seeking to defend his seat in 2022.
Munya served as Governor between 2017 and 2022 and is also seeking to oust Kiraitu in 2022.
After the CS took a swipe at him, the Governor went on to elaborate his development record.
