Kajiado East MP Peris Tobiko has been accused of sabotaging and rubbishing state funded projects in Kajiado County.
It is reported that the MP has fallen out with senior national government officials who launched and are overseeing government projects in Kajiado.
A source in the national government who requested anonymity accused the MP of “political fraud” in the 2017 elections and being a divisive factor in the sensitive Kajiado County politics.
The government source said the MP is “an impediment to the wellbeing of presidential programmes”
The source said the National government is incensed that Ms Tobiko has rubbished efforts to provide water to Kitengela residents saying the Government is “Putting water kiosks in Kitengela instead of piping water to apartments up to 7th floors”.
It is reported that the local Kajiado leadership has decided to sideline her and last month, she was not among those who visited State House when Governor Joseph Ole Lenku led a delegation that included MCAs.
When travelling to Arusha last month, President Kenyatta said Kitengela water issue was a priority.
Kajiado local leaders who spoke to Hot News said the President pushed for Kajiado County Government to repossess the Water Pipeline from the EPZ Company.
The President d said Governor Lenku should take charge.
The pipeline from Nairobi Water and Sewerage Company supplied water to EPZ which in turn sold to Kitengela residents at high prices.
The pipeline is now under the control of Kajiado County.
The County is now putting up eight fresh water kiosks in Kitengela to reduce the distance people spend to get fresh water.
Over the weekend, Tobiko rubbished the Water programme.
However, when sought for comment and clarification, she did not respond to text messages, phone calls and WhatsApp messages.
Despite being elected on a Jubilee ticket, Tobikos opponents accuse her of campaigning for the opposition in the last elections.
Her opponents say she supported Raila Odinga, former Governor David Nkedianye and NASA MCAs at the expense of the Jubilee administration.
Jubilee Party did not win a single seat in Kajiado East.
It also lost the gubernatorial vote in the constituency.
The MCAs who won on NASA tickets are Joshua Oluwuasa (Kaputei North), Francis Kaesha ( OLoosiriko Sholinke) , Paul Matuiya (Kitengela), Amos Peshut ( Imaroro) and Henry Kimiti ( Poka Kenyewa).
