Several ODM supporters have faulted their leader Raila Odinga for kicking out the Party’s National Elections Board (NEB) officials.
The supporters said the move to revamp the party’s National Elections Board is “cosmetic surgery”.
“The more things change- the more they remain the same. The new officials will simply play to the tune of the party owners. There is no change since ODM will still carry out shambolic nominations,” said Moses Omondi from Kangemi.
On Tuesday, ODM leader Raila Odinga kicked out the party’s largely discredited National Elections Board and overhauled the disciplinary committee.
Political pundits said the ageing Odinga is trying to revamp the party ahead of 2022.
The Board was led by nominated Senator Judy Pareno who was fired.
It is this Board that bungled the 2017 nominations and has also been blamed for ODM loss to Jubilee.
The defunct Constitution Implementation Commission former commissioner Catherine Mumma will chair the new NEB.
It will also have Ramadhani Abubakar, Mumbi Ngaru, Seth Kakusye and Florence Omosa.
Don Ben Sihanya was appointed the Chairman of the disciplinary committee.
Lawyer Fred Athuok was axed.
The disciplinary committee will also comprise former Wajir South MP Abdulahi Diriye, Richard Tairo, Syntei Nchoe and Emily Awita.
Insiders said the NEB comprises of “weak” individuals who are “indecisive”
“We are sure the team will bungle the grassroots elections. There is nothing fair in ODM. If they do not bungle on their own volition, they will be forced to bungle by their bosses. Don’t forget the famous story of men in black,” Omondi said.
