The Registrar of Political Parties Ann Nderitu on Thursday registered the Party of Economic Democracy (PED).
Speaking after receiving the registration certificate, the Party’s National Organizing Secretary Enock Ombuna, said the party is seeking to restore Economic Democracy.
Ombuna said (PED) will serve the poor, youth and women.
“We are set to go; we must empower our youths and women. Our party will provide opportunities to everyone regardless of age, gender and any kind of disability,” he said.
He said PED will eliminate corruption once it takes Power in 2022.
“PED is the first Party to be registered during the BBI era. We fully support the BBI,” he said.
Tom Musamali, the Interim chairperson said they are determined to change the political landscape after ODM which is the official opposition “went to bed with the Government”.
“As we stand here today, we are aware how the country is being Governed. There is confusion and our party will fix the problem,” he said.
He said the Party will field candidates in Kahawa Wendani Ward in Kiambu County and Msambweni Constituency, Kilifi County.
Kahawa Wendani ward seat fell vacant after the death of Jubilee MCA Cyrus Omondi in India last month.
Msambweni MP Suleiman Dori died last month after succumbing to cancer.
