Orange Democratic Movement has denied claims by their arch-rivals that they masterminded the violence that was witnessed during the Kibra by-election that was won by Imran Okoth of ODM.
Speaking at Amaase Sub Parish Catholic Church in Teso South where Sh900, 000 was raised in aid of the roofing of the Church, ODM chairman John Mbandi said that those who were caught on the Camera carrying stones should be held responsible.
“ODM as a party never participated in any form of violence; if at all there was any violence then who were the casualties? These are schemes to divert people’s attention that Baba was invincible in his bedroom,” Mbadi said.
He said ODM was still a strong party that should not be taken for granted, singling out Busia as the leading in terms members’ loyalty to the party in the country followed by Homa Bay.
The party chairman told Teso South MP Geoffrey Omuse who was not present not to waver but to come to his lane and solidify the party’s popularity in the area.
Mbandi and other ODM MPs present including Otiende Amolo (Rarieda), Walter Owino (Awendo), Woman representatives Florence Mutua (Busia) and Christine Ombaka (Siaya) condemned Garissa Woman Representative Anab Gure for her disparaging remarks against Baba.
On the yet to be released nine-point Building Bridges Initiative Report, the MPs including Busia County ODM Secretary Innocent Oluku and County Youth League Chairman James Anyango promised to rally behind the document once it is officially released.
Mbandi said BBI has a nine point agenda including inclusivity and to push for disbursement of funds to the tune of 30-35 per cent to counties as equitable share.
Otiende Amolo said after President Uhuru Kenyatta and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga receive the report this week, experts will draft constitutional amendment questions, urging Kenyans to support the document.
