Saboti MP Caleb Amisi is the new spokesperson of the newly formed Magharibi youth movement.
Amisi was crowned on Saturday at his Kitale residence.
The event was well attended.
ODM secretary General Edwin Sifuna and five MPs also attended.
The movement is meant to fight for the welfare of the youth and their representation in both elective and appointive positions.
MPs present were Embakasi East Babu Owino,Kibra’s Imran Okoth and nominated MP Godfrey Otsosi.
A number of MCAs,Youth representatives and young aspirants from five counties of Trans Nzoia,Bungoma,Busia,Vihiga and Kakamega attended.
Addressing the gathering, Sifuna said they have picked Amisi because he is hard-working and has the interest of the youth at heart.
The SG said the movement will help identify the talented youth in politics and get ways on how they will campaign for them to ensure they are elected in various positions.
He asked the youth in the area to back the BBI report saying it carries goodies for the youth.
“Let us all back the BBI since it ensures inclusivity, Raila will become the President and Uhuru our Prime Minister. Even Mudavadi, Wetaa and Kalonzo will not be left without anything. Ruto will be the opposition chief which is also powerful in the next government,” said Sifuna.
Sifuna asked the youth who are being given wheelbarrows by Deputy president William Ruto to take them but at the same time to leave their CVs with him by asking him to get them good and admirable jobs.
Amisi thanked western youth for the new responsibility they have given him.
He said he will work with all youths in the region to fight for their shares.
