Former Councilor Benson Mutura who rose to be MP for Makadara has been sworn in after Governor Mike Sonko was ousted.
He was sworn into office on Monday 21st 2020.
Within 60 days, an election should be held in Nairobi to elect a new Governor.
27 Senators voted to impeach Sonko.
Even before the session was over, his impeachment had been gazetted.
The gazette notice was out as early as 11.30 pm and it was circulated widely on social media.
