Businessman Abass Khalif candidature for the South C Ward has received a major boost.
This is after the business community in the area vowed to elect him as their next MCA.
Speaking to Hot News, the business community led by Tony Wambua and Abdirazak Ishmael said Abass has the interests of the business community at heart.
“In the past, we have been led by people who had no interest of the business community. They cared less and we suffered as they watched. It’s now time to have one of our own in offices. At last he understands our troubles,” Wambua said.
The two said that next week, they will marshal all the community elders in the area to support Abass.
“Abass is a peace loving Kenyan. He is able to unite all the residents in South C, preach peace and harmony and those are the types of leaders we want, “said Ishmael.
Abass is seeking to be the compromise candidate for the Azimio La Umoja.
He will fight it out with current MCA Osman Khalif Abdi among others.
Speaking during one of the rallies, Abass promised to ensure he works with the Nairobi Water and Sewerage Company to have constant water supply in the area.
“We have a few Industries and parastatals in this area. I will request their management to hire some of our youth who are qualified but jobless. I will also represent you well at the County Assembly and ensure your interests are served,” he told the residents last week during a rally in the area.
