Credible sources within the United Democratic Alliance have hinted that the Party will hand over the Starehe MP ticket to EALA MP Simon Mbugua.
Speaking to Hot News, a party official who requested anonymity said Mbugua is an asset to the Party and they won’t subject him to the “rigors of nominations”
The official said Mbugua is among the Party big -wigs that won’t be subjected to nominations because the Party needs them for “critical moments”
“Charles Njagua Kanyi aka Jaguiar is still young. He has a lot of time ahead of him and it will only be honorable if he steps aside for Mbugua. The two have agreed and we know Kanyi will step aside,” said the official.
On Wednesday, the Starehe MP popularly known as Jaguar denied reports that he had stepped down in the race to retain his parliamentary seat.
In a statement on Wednesday, the MP termed reports that he had been instructed to quit the race by deputy president William Ruto as “fake”.
He also denied holding any negotiations with East Africa Legislative Assembly MP Simon Mbugua which led to him quitting the race for him.
