Former President of Zimbabwe Robert Mugabe is being mourned as a “Hero” and a “Villain” at the same time.
Mugabe died on Friday Morning in Singapore where he had been hospitalized.
Outside Zimbabwe and Kenya in particular, some credit Mugabe for taking over land and giving it to the majority Africans.
“Mugabe is a hero. He has left his people with land. Tata Nelson Mandela left his people with good speeches and lack of land is the genesis of all problems facing South Africans. Despite the economic meltdown- Zimbabwe will rise,” said Arnold Njoroge from Karen.
Others blamed Mugabe for all the ills facing Zimbabwe.
“He led the liberation of Zimbabwe. However, he ruined his achievements by overstaying in power. That’s his greatest undoing,” said Mark Makhanu from Ngong.
President Uhuru Kenyatta directed that the Kenyan flags will fly half-mast as Kenya joins the rest of Africa in mourning the octogenarian.
Mugabe was 95 years and was in power for 37 years.
He was deposed from power in 2017 by his deputy Emerson Manangangwa alias Crocodile.
