As reality continues to sink in- on who was on the ill feted Ethiopian airline that crushed on Sunday killing 157 people, it has emerged that the Catholic Church has lost a Priest and a Nun.
Fr George Mukua Kageche CMM, a member of the congregation of Marian hill Missionaries who died in the plane crash was coming from Rome.
He was 40 years old.
He was ordained on 27th November 2017 and sent to Rome.
According to his friends, “This was his first visit home but he didn’t make it. Gone too soon Fr and a close friend of mine for many years,” his friend Van Heyden mourned.
For Sister Florence Wangari Yongi , she is reportedly a Notre Dame de Angers Sister and in her early 30s.
“She was a missionary nurse in Goma, Democratic Republic of Congo. She had been on her way to Nairobi to renew her passport,” a friend described her on social media.
The shortest time it takes the Catholic Church to train a priest is 9 years.
Jesuit priests take 12 years.
