Hundreds of Kenyans living in Columbia yesterday registered for Huduma Namba.
The exercise was carried out by the Kenyan Embassy in Brazil.
The Embassy in Brazil is headed by ambassador Isaac Ochieng .
It covers Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Venezuela, and the whole of South America.
The Kenyans in Colombia who included students were happy to receive the Embassy official Judith Ongolo who oversaw the exercise.
According to several Kenyans who spoke to Hot News, the exercise was carried out in Bogota City and those living in other parts of Colombia had to travel to Bogota for the registration.
The Kenyans told Hot News that they were happy with the Kenyan government for taking the exercise to Colombia.
“Our appeal is to the Government of Kenya through the Kenyan Embassy in Brazil to come up with a framework that can help us get the E- passport without going all the way to USA. The USA is far and it’s very costly,” said Douglas Nyongesa a student.
The Embassy official Mrs Ongolo said it’s possible for the Kenyans in Colombia to get the E-passports since their details are in the Huduma Namba database .
Nyongesa, challenged the Kenyan government to come up with more positive frameworks to improve the government services in the Diaspora.
