A Kenyan philanthropist has received global recognition for his service to humanity.
Shahid Yakub has been recognized by Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) for helping the less fortunate in Kenya.
Speaking to Hot News,Yakub said he is humbled to receive the Outstanding Achievement in Community Outreach and Service.
He received the award on June 18.
“All our dreams can come true, only if we have the courage to pursue them, no person has ever been honored for what he received. Honor has been the reward for what he gave, be the givers.” he said.
This year, he has distributed 4,500 food hampers.
He has been distributing food to the poor in various parts of the country through a programme dubbed “Feed A Family”.
Yakub said he started the programme ten years ago with a group of his friends and family members.
The Philanthropist thanked his parents saying they are his first mentors and guide in every step of his life.
“I also thank Sheikh Salman Abdul Hakim, my brother, friend, partner with whom we co-founded the feeding program.” he said adding that Abdul Hakim is a very enthusiastic person when it comes to charity and philanthropic work.
According to their website, ACFE is based in Texas.
It is the world’s largest anti-fraud organization and premier provider of anti-fraud training.
The association was founded in 1988 by Dr. Joseph T. Wells, a prominent fraud expert and author.
Yakub is a member of the Association.
