Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi has asked the youth to save at least shs 50 in a day.
The MP said if one saves shs 50, he will be able to save shs 18,000 in a year which can be invested.
He said the youth should learn to save in order to spend.
He was speaking at the induction training for the new Biashara Ya Westlands SACCO (BIYAWE).
Wanyonyi asked the youth to spend less money on non-essentials.
The new SACCO targets individual youth, youth in groups, bodaboda groups as wells as small scale traders from Westlands.
He urged the SACCO members to support it through savings and engage in investment so that they may grow the SACCO.
BIYAWE SACCO is set to be launched in March.
The SACCO will have a membership subscription fee of shs 2,000, share capital of shs 2,000 and a minimum daily contribution of shs 50.
