The leader of majority Kimani Ichung’wa has been faulted by Yasego Society chairman Stephen Otieno for attacking police officers deployed to protect a disputed land on the Northern bypass near the Windsor Hotel in Nairobi.
Otieno told Hot News the matter is sensitive since it is in court.
Two parties have claimed ownership of the 54-acre land owned by the society.
“Leaders must avoid reckless talk. We own this land which we legally acquired from the white owner, madam Julie Kohlengberg. She had registered the estate under KOHLENBERG FOUNDATION when she surrendered it to former employees of her farm over two decades ago. Let the court decide, not the leader of majority,” said Otieno.
In a video doing rounds on social media, last week, Kimani without mentioning name attacked a Senior Police officer in parliament -who he accused of protecting against grabbing of the contested land.
“I hear there is a senior police officer, whether you dine with the president, you take breakfast with the Deputy President, you take lunch with the leader of majority, you shall not have opportunity to steal land from people of Kenya.” Kimani said in the video.
Documents in our possession indicate that Yasego Society has moved to court where Meron limited and Langton Investments Limited have been listed as first and second defendants.
