Anyoun from Teso North Sub County, Kisoko Juakali from Nambale and Ekhunjwe ya Basamia traditional dancers, will represent Busia County at the 93rd edition of the Kenya Music and Cultural Festivals in Siaya County.
The festivals will be held from 23rd-29th November 2019.
Busia County Director of Culture Maurice Makhanu said the three community dancers will be hoping to better their performance in previous editions at the festivals.
During the 2016 event in Kakamega, Kisoko took second position with Ekhunjwe ya Basamia finishing third.
Ekhunjwe improved in the 2017 edition in Nyeri to finish second.
Makhanu said, apart from the Kenya Music and Cultural festivals, the County will also sponsor the December cultural festivals which are used to display cultures from various communities.
Makhanu said Bunyala 1 cultural festivals will be held at Marenga Beach on December 24th.
Bunyala 2 at Budalangi, Samia at Bumbe Beach, Marachi in Butula, Bukhayo 1 at Busia Township Vocational Training Centre and Iteso at Kakapel Cultural Centre will be held on December 26th.
Bukhayo 2 festivals in Mundika and Bunyala 3 at Bukoma Beach will be held on December 27th, 2019.
Abananda cultural festival that will bring the Abasamia from Kenya and Uganda for cultural exchanges and promote East African cohesion and integration will close the cultural calendar on January 1, 2020 at yet to be decided venue.
