Trade CS Moses Kuria has been praised for creating more special economic zones in the country.
In an opinion poll by Mizani Africa, respondents said the CS did well to gazette the areas since the move will spur economic growth.
The poll was carried out between March 6th to 10th March 2023
Dongo Kundu (Mombasa) and Naivasha were categorized as special economic zones and therefore investors were invited for business in the areas.
“The CS gazetted parts of Bonje in Kwale County, Bombolulu in Mombasa and Mavoko in Machakos as Export Processing zones. He signed BEEEP (Business Environment and Export Enhancement Programme) where EUR 25M will be dedicated to support the government in improving the investment climate and the ease of doing business at national and county level,” the respondents said.
In the poll, 46% of respondents said the Country is headed in the right direction.
34% said its headed in the wrong direction and 20% were not sure.
