Bura MP Ali Wario was yesterday endorsed by the National Peace Consortium to contest for Tana River Gubernatorial seat.
According to the Consortium chairperson Hassan Kinywa, Ali Wario is the best candidate to replace underperforming Dadho Godhana.
Kinywa said Godhana is development conscious unlike the current Governor.
“We are endorsing individuals and not parties. Hon Wario, with the blessing of these leaders, we want you to vie for the Tana River governorship in the coming elections. The work you have done in the past fifteen years as Bura MP stands out,” Kinywa said.
Speaking during the launch of National Peace Consortium, Wario promised to serve the residents equally unlike the current Governor whom he said is biased.
He said the interfaith team will champion for peace in the coming elections.
“It’s honorable to see the Muslim, Hindus and Christians coming together to mobilize for national cohesion and peaceful coexistence,” he said.
At the same time, Wario was appointed the chairperson for the consortium.
His term will end after four years.
