Busia County basketball champions and 2018 National runners up Sigalame High are out of the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association Brookside Term One games- 2019.
This is after losing two matches on day one of the championships in Mombasa on Wednesday.
Siga, as the team is popularly known, were beaten 48-47 by debutantes Ago Sare from Nyanza in the first match before losing to Nairobi champions Dagoretti High 43-58.
They met Muriithi on Thursday in the last match which was a mere formality.
Sigalame reached the finals last year in their first appearance before losing to Laiser Hill.
They qualified for the East African Games in Rwanda where they finished fifth.
Against Dagoretti in the preliminaries of the national games, they beat them by over 30 baskets.
“Dagoretti revenged against us today. We lost majority of experienced players last year; the current team is composed of young players, but we hope to recover our lost glory next year,” said the team games master Bernard Ombija.
