At least 400 Boeing 737 max jets have been grounded worldwide.
Several countries have banned the jets from departing or landing in their airports.
This is after the Sunday crash when an Ethiopian airline crashed and killed all 157 people on board.
According to Al Jazeera news network, by 11.50 pm Kenyan time on Tuesday, a total of 370 planes had been grounded.
China has grounded 100 planes it uses for its local routes.
The European Union has joined other countries in grounding the jets over safety concerns.
However, Boeing and the US government have insisted the panes are safe.
Several US senators led by Mitt Romney have asked Boeing and the US government to ground the planes and address the safety concerns.
However, it’s not clear how many Boeing 737 Kenya owns but several residents want Kenya to ban the jets from flying in its airspace.
“I used to travel a lot and use the Ethiopian route. I never knew these things are dangerous. KQ should ground any if at all we have them. They should be banned from flying and landing in our airports,” said Busia governor Sospeter Ojaamong.
Several airlines have warned of a disruption in air travel and asked passengers to reconfirm their flights.
