Two businessmen denied charges of possessing 12 elephants tusks weighing 73kgs.
Noor Ali Hassan and Ibrahim Ali Hussein were jointly found in possession of government trophies worth 7.3 million, at Kinyambu area within Makueni county.
The two denied the charges before resident magistrate Joyce Gandani of Kibera Law Courts.
The chargesheet states that Noor Ali Hassan and Ibrahim Ali Hussein, were transporting the elephant tusks in a motor vehicle make Toyota Prado of registration KBF 080S without a certificate of ownership.
They were charged with two other counts of dealing with government trophy without a dealer’s license and failing to make a report of possession of a government trophy contrary to the wildlife conservation and management act.
They also denied the charges before Kibera chief magistrate Joyce Gandani.
The case was pushed to a later date after the prosecution claimed that the police file had not been availed.
The case will be heard on the 8th November.
