Former western region Football Kenya Federation (FKF) chairman Dr Moses Akali and his entire team won all the 5 FKF Kakamega branch positions.
Akali’s camp won with a big margin during the tension-packed exercise.
The elections were conducted at Hill School Hall in Kakamega town on Saturday.
Dr. Akali carried the chairman’s seat after garnering 21 votes against his opponent Edwin Lisamula who managed only 7.
The process that started at 9; 00 am under the FKF electoral board commissioner Abdi Said was peaceful throughout.
Akali thanked the delegates who were drawn from the entire Kakamega branch for trusting his entire team by giving them another four years mandate.
He extended an olive branch to his opponents and other stakeholders.
He said this is to help develop, restructure and restore high standards in the branch that enjoys massive raw talent.
His opponent Edwin Lisamula blamed their loss on electoral malpractices.
Lisamula alleged that bona fide delegates names were deleted from the voter’s register and revealed that his team will be waiting for the court ruling on 3rd December for their next move.
Allan Muhando was voted the secretary-general with 18 votes with his two opponents Rajab Wangalwa and Maurice Majani tying with 5 votes each.
Selina Nasiche amassed 21 votes to beat Abdul Wanyonyi who had 7 votes for the treasurer’s seat
Enoch Lucheveleli was elected as youth representative with 23 votes against 5 votes garnered by his opponent Hillary Muhalia.
For women rep seat, Anne Nafula received 20 votes to beat Virginia Andeso who got 7 votes.
In the neighboring Vihiga branch, Kelvin Elegwa Mwangu received 17 votes to beat Savulane Anamange.
Anamange got zero votes.
Erick Makokha was crowned the chairman of Bungoma branch after he got 23 votes against 1 in favor of his opponent Peter Makali.
Soccer stakeholders will be waiting to see how the December court ruling and also the advice from the registrar of sports calling for the postponement of the exercise being overlooked will affect branch elections across the country.
