Cherangany MP Joshua kuttuny has mourned prominent Swahili author Professor Ken Walibora.
Media reports indicate that Walibora died on Friday evening last week after being knocked down by a car while crossing Landhies road in Nairobi.
His body is lying at Kenyatta National Hospital Mortuary.
Walibora hailed from Cherangany constituency, Trans Nzoia County.
In a statement, Kuttuny has asked the Inspector General of police Hillary Mutyambai and the DCI to launch a probe into Walibora’s death.
Kuttuny conveyed his condolences to the family, friends and media fraternity following the passing on of the veteran Journalist.
He said Walibora will be remembered for his great contribution towards the education sector.
His books were used as set books for secondary school students.
“Ken was a prolific author of several Swahili books which inspired many Kenyans in learning Swahili” kuttuny said.
He said he will remember him for his mentorship program when he was the chairman of Chama Cha Kiswahili Suwerwa (CHAKUSA) in Suwerwa Secondary School.
In his book Siku Njema,he captured Suwerwa Secondary School- Kuttuny said.
Kuttuny said Walibora was also a mentor to many including KTN Journalist Dancun Khaemba.
He authored ‘Siku njema’ a novel published in 1996, Kidagaa Kimemwozea and Innocence long lost.
He was a lecturer in several Universities.
