Residents of Shipala village, Kaimosi, Vihiga County in Kenya on Saturday held a ‘mock’ funeral for a 43 year old woman who died in the Ethiopian air crash.
Julia Ingasiani Mwashi’s family held a mock burial and said the memorial service was to celebrate her life.
The family conducted a burial ceremony without the body since there were no survivors in the Ethiopian plane crash.
They buried an empty coffin.
43 year old Julia was a mother of three.
She was killed on 10th March when an Ethiopian airline crashed in Bishoftu six minutes after takeoff.
She was returning to Kenya from a work assignment in Norway.
She used to work with the Kenya Girl Guides Association.
All 157 passengers and crew on board died.
Julia was eulogized as a kind and humble person.
The memorial service was held in Kaimosi, Vihiga County.
On Wednesday, her work colleagues and family had also organized a church service at St Peters ACK church Uthiru .
Many paid their glowing tributes.
