Kajiado Senator Kanar Seki has thrown his weight behind Kajiado West MP George Sunkuyia and backed his effort to resist the Kajiado County Government’s plan to sub divide the Kibiku land to members of Keekonyokie Community Trust.
The land measures approximately 3,000 acres and is worth Sh 100 Billion.
Senator Seki has vowed to support the MP and warned that they will not allow the Land to be Sub divided.
And to show his commitment that he will support Sunkuyia to the end, he pledged to donate Sh 1 million to the initiative and gave 500,000 of the pledge was given to the MP and aides at Entarakuet Hotel.
MCAs from the area Torris Joseph and Sholoi Amos are backing the County Government and have warned investors against paying cash to unscrupulous land merchants in the area who have been selling fictitious plots in informal places.
Hundreds of land buyers risk losing their money when the land is finally Sub divided.
But even as the Senator generously offered financial support to the Sunkuyia group, 300 women from the Maasai Community today trekked for 40 kilometres to the Kajiado West Sub County Headquarters in Kisamis to protest against the MP.
Carrying twigs and placards, the exhausted women denounced Sunkuyia and his aides saying he was behind the illegal sale of plots in Kibiku.
Last week, leaders from ODM, Jubilee and UDA led by Governor Joseph Ole Lenku addressed the media and said they will not allow politics in the land matter.
Former Senator Peter Mositet, politicians Joseph Simel and Francis Meja and Ewuaso MCA Torris and Amos Sholoi attended the media conference.
Speaker Justus Ngussur has been supporting Sunkuyia.
