Farmers in the livestock and agricultural sectors and residents living in Kajiado satellite towns are the biggest beneficiaries of a grand plan to transform the County in the next five years.
The farmers who will align their activities to value chains will benefit from the ongoing construction of an industrial park as well as other cottage industries.
Those who live in towns will have better amenities as Governor Lenku focuses on creating robust trading hubs in the rapidly growing towns.
These are some of raft of provisions contained in the Kajiado County’s Integrated Development Plan (CIDP) – 2023-2027 launched by Governor Joseph Ole Lenku yesterday.
The document anchors its focus on modulated Pastoralism where farmers will be supported to participate in their respective value chains.
Urban centers will benefit from clean water supply, Sewerage system, environmental make over through greening and cleaning the towns.
The County Government also seeks to actively participate in activities that create climate smart physical environment.
The Governor is also keen on providing quality and equitable access to competitive education opportunities for local youth.
When he launched the CIDP at Umma University yesterday, the Governor said it would cost Sh 133 billion to fully implement it.
” About Sh 70 billion of this budget will come from external sources such as international donor agencies and financial institutions, National Government and the private sector.
” We are calling on people of goodwill to walk with us and support the various programmes that are meant to achieve the milestones that we have,” he said.
