Catholics across the world celebrated Palm Sunday that commemorates the triumphant entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem.
The day also marked the beginning of the holy week.
In Busia , Father Chris Wafula led Busia Catholic Church faithful in a procession from St Teresa’s Girls Primary School by holding palm leaves.
Fr. Wafula blessed the palm leaves before the procession returned to the church for the mass.
He urged the faithful to preserve the blessed palm leaves for use during Ash Wednesday in February 2020.
Fr. Wafula in his sermon said the palm leaves shows the triumphant of Jesus Christ through suffering and death and his kingship was not of this world but heaven.
The procession signifies God’s deeds.
“We celebrate the love of God and forgiveness; we need to pray to leaders to fulfill the needs of common citizens,” he said.
Fr Wafula urged Christians to emulate him by registering for Huduma Number which he said had no correlation to the biblical 666.
At Zion Temple Global Ministries, Bishop David Bulimu who led the mass urged Christians not to harbor accusations which he said will taint people’s relations, lead a person to commit sin, break people’s hearts and bring fear in people’s lives.
