Facebook users on Wednesday criticized Kakamega Woman Representative Elsie Muhanda for writing her name on a mud house she helped to build for a poor family in the County.
She was lectured not to disrespect the poor and instead accord them some dignity.
She captioned two photos of a former mud house and the current mud house like,”This inspires me, transforming lives of my people.”
Her followers were quick to poke holes on her character. Jah Juok wrote: “What rubbish writing your name on someone’s house? Did you really do it out of a good heart?”
Nur Yasie wrote,”Hehe wueh, ungejenga ya mawe si ungehamia huko🤣”
Another user Irene Ogeta said, “What exactly is the reason behind your name reflecting up there? It’s disrespectful and does not accord dignity. I mean this is not the best you could have offered yet still you are advertising that you did it by branding your name on it? Imagine how many people will mock them just because you decided to embarrass them instead of helping them.”
In her post Ogeta continued, “They will become your slaves by having to stick with you and praise your political affiliation even when their values do not align with it. What happens if they don’t support you in the next general election?
If you should help, then accord those you are helping some dignity!”
