Ford Kenya officials from Trans Nzoia County have rejected the bid for Kiminini MP to become the party’s Secretary General.
Led by Chairman Peter Puka, the Kwanza branch chairman, the officials said the MP lacks stand and that he is self centered.
“Chris lacks stand and does not adhere to party rules and ideologies. We cannot support him and he should know that he is going nowhere “said Puka in Kitale.
Puka said the MP recently declared he will support Deputy President William Ruto for in 2022 and a day later he said he will support his party leader Moses Wetangu’la.
“Sometimes he supports ODM leader Raila Odinga, sometimes Ruto and at times he pretends to be with Wetangu’la. It’s unacceptable. He is the Western Kenya ‘water melon’,” Puka said.
On Sunday, the national assembly Deputy whip told AIC Tumaini church in Kitale that he will support the DP.
Later he retracted his statement during an interview on Sulwe FM.
“Its better the devil you know than the angel you don’t know”Puka said.
Puka added that it is his democratic right to vie for the position but he should know that he will not succeed.
A month ago, a section of the officials led by Joseph Pepela had shown interest in supporting him for the Secretary General position but they have so far changed their mind.
Two weeks later while at Christ the King Catholic Church, Wamalwa lashed out at Wetangu’la for having failed to honor his pledge of sh 50,000 to the church.
The statement was not well received by Wetangu’la and his Ford Kenya supporters.
