After losing the Tigania East Parliamentary seat in 2017 to Josphat Gichunge Kabeabea, former MP Mpuru Aburi is optimistic that he will clinch the seat in August.
Tigania East is one of nine constituencies of Meru County.
The constituency has five wards.
It was established in 1997.
It was one of four constituencies of the former Meru District.
Its first MP was Adams Karauri , then Peter Munya , Mpuru Aburi and latter Josphat Gichunge Kabeabea.
Mpuru hopes to clinch the seat on the National Ordinary Peoples Empowerment Union (NOPEU) party.
NOPEU party has a huge following in Meru County and Aburi as its leader, has asked a resident to vote for the Azimio Presidential candidate Raila Odinga as the 5th president of Kenya.
“As you all know, I am focused on winning and developing Tigania East. We have to reclaim the lost glory,” Mpuru said.
