Three Kenyatta University students have been released on a cash bail of shs 50,000 each.
The students have spent four nights in police custody.
The three had been arraigned in court on Tuesday and were to be detained for 21 days as police carry out investigations.
They had earlier been denied bail.
Vincent Buodo, Dancan Onyango and Joshua Ayika were arraigned in court for charges of incitement contrary to Section 96(b) of the penal code.
They were accused of inciting students to demonstrate and destroy property.
The court heard that the students destroyed a perimeter wall during the demonstrations.
On 7th October, the Kenyatta University Students went on strike and demolished the University’s Perimeter wall.
They were arrested on Monday.
The case is set for hearing on 15th November 2019.
The student leader Joshua Ayika called the Administration to listen to the students and iron out issues that the students had raised.
The Student Leaders Society of Kenya led by its chairperson Zedd’ Mukaya and Secretary General Nevil Kodhiambo were excited after their colleagues were released.
David Kariuki who is a student leader at Kenya Institute of Management asked the Ministry of Education to investigate financial irregularities in Universities.
