Businessman Isaac Njoroge Peter was yesterday charged in court for damaging property worth shs 15,000 and assaulting a tout.
The prosecution alleged that he committed the offence on August 11 along Mpaka road in Westlands sub-county within Nairobi.
He also denied assaulting John Njoroge where he caused him bodily harm before Kibera resident magistrate William Tulel
According to the police report, it was around 1440hrs and the complainant was on his daily chores when John who is a conductor stopped at the stage for a customer to alight.
Issac Njoroge then rushed where John was and used kicks and blows to assault him.
The police report says that John tried to explain to Isaac that the car had simply stopped for the passenger to alight, but he was hit on the left thigh and in the process damaged his mobile phone
The damaged mobile phone was a Tecno Camon worth Ksh 15,000.
This is contrary to the penal code.
The complaint reported the matter at Parklands police station and later went to hospital for treatment where a P3 form was filled.
The magistrate released him on Sh100,000 bond with the same surety or cash bail of Ksh 20,000.
Kibera Magistrate Tulel directed the case to be mentioned on September 23.
