City MCA; s opposed to Matopeni MCA Abdi Guyo as the Majority leader want a probe into the Sunday break in at City Hall.
The MCA’s led by Maringo/ Hamza MCA Mark Ndung’u who is wrestling Guyo over the leader of Majority seat condemned Principal Human Resource officer at the Assembly Nancy Mutai and Serjeant at Arms Rashid Senje for breaking into the clerk’s office.
The two were arrested and locked up at Central Police station on Sunday after they broke into the Clerk’s office and stole laptops and crucial documents.
The Reps said the break in was to cover up corruption that is rampant at the County Assembly.
They want the DCI to probe the incident and ensure the culprits are arrested and charged.
However, Ngwele told Hot News his office wasn’t broken into and that the claims were “fake news”
Last week Thursday, Clerk Jacob Ngwele advised all Assembly staff to keep away from City Hall until the “political temperatures cool”
This is after running battles on Wednesday when Speaker Beatrice Elachi stormed City Hall after a year out.
Elachi had been impeached by MCA’s last year and obtained a court order reinstating her.
Guyo and a section of MCAs were opposed to her return.
On Wednesday, they tried in vain to block her comeback.
Governor Mike Sonko has accused Guyo of undermining his administration and wants Jubilee Party to replace him as the Majority leader.
Elachi suspended the Assembly indefinitely on Wednesday.
Yesterday in a gazette notice, she announced that the Assembly will resume sittings on 29th October.
Addressing a press conference at a Nairobi Hotel, Mlango Kubwa MCA Patricia Mutheu condemned Nancy for masterminding the break in on a Sunday.
